Description

Mars 2022/10/31  Finally Mars, the first serious attempt of this planetary season on the red planet, the nocturnal north-east winds, quite sustained, is a constant of these last nights, making everything highly complicated and seeing disastrous, with very short moments of stability. I look forward to better conditions to see how 16" behaves on Mars. In any case it is a pleasure, after two years, to be able to image Mars, it will not be a spectacular opposition like the last two, but it is very high on the sky this year. In the photo part of the Tharsis region with, at the top right, the gigantic Olympus Mons, a beautiful cap of blue clouds surrounds the North Pole.  Skywatcher Dobson 16 "goto Zwo ASI 462mc Zwo ADC Barlow Baader q 2.25x  3 images derated from 3 consecutive 180s videos  Seeing: 6/10 Transparency: 8/10  Here in full resolution: https://flic.kr/p/2nWv57j
